Transition Academy
The Transition Academy is designed to help educators plan for college and career readiness and positive postsecondary outcomes for students with an IEP. The components to be addressed during the academy are Indicator 13, the transition compliance portion of the student’s IEP, how to plan for post-secondary outcomes, and the framework and practice of how to include self-determination strategies and skills during instruction. Specific components provided in greater detail will be Transition Assessments and Services and to teach students to participate in the planning process of their future.
Components of Literacy
This series is comprised of seven modules anchored in the science of reading. Each module will address a different element skilled readers possess as well as the instructional components necessary to produce success in reading. This professional development is designed so that participants will have an opportunity to examine and see research-based practices modeled with a focus on quality decision-making about instruction and curriculum use. Sessions dive into ‘what works’ and provide hands-on application for preventing reading difficulties and providing effective intervention for struggling readers. This series must be completed sequentially beginning with Module 1. Presenters should not skip or remove material from the whole.
