The State Implementation Specialists (SIS) has a specific role in supporting fidelity of high quality professional development. This specific role requires the SIS to be an effective observer and facilitator of coaching conversations. To support this role, the following resources and tools are used.

Setting Expectations for Effective Relationships

The State Implementation Specialists Introduction Information Handout clearly identifies the expectations for the collaborative relationship between the SIS and the Professional Development Provider.

Introduction to the State Implementation Specialist Purpose, Role, and Requirements

The State Implementation Specialist is a key element in the implementation of the Missouri State Personnel Grant (SPDG). As with all of the key elements, Practice Profiles (NIRN, 2013) are used as a framework for defining the expected levels of implementation. The State Implementation Specialist Practice Profile support the SIS team as well as each individual SIS in reflecting on their current level of implementation and identifying ways to improve.

The SIS purpose, role, and requirements are directly linked to the requirements of the State Personnel Development Grant. This presentation and handout are used with each Regional Professional Development Center as a resource for the initial or revisited discussions about the role of the SIS and the expected outcomes.
