Tan-Tar-A Conference Center

Keynote Speaker
Dave Stuart Jr.

Dave Stuart Jr. has taught secondary English and social studies for nearly twenty years, most of which have been in Cedar Springs, MI, where he builds a life with his family. His blog, DaveStuartJr.com, is read by over 50,000 educators each month, and his bestselling books These 6 Things and The Will to Learn have been cherished by teachers and leaders around the world. As a practicing teacher himself, Dave seeks to create experiences that are meaningful, encouraging, and actionable. His mission is to encourage and equip educators on the journey to long-term flourishing and professional excellence. Dave has presented hundreds of times, both overseas and in nearly every US state.

Bringing together educational leaders, teachers, and statewide support, the DCI 2025 Summit will explore purposeful leading, teaching, and learning by addressing the following objectives:

  • Sustaining Purpose and Motivation: While the climb might, at times, feel unending, DCI districts share a common focus, motivation, and sense of purpose among their educators and students, creating a collaborative culture of long-term educational excellence.

Visionary Leadership: DCI is most effective when districts have strong leadership support at both the district and building level, with a clear and inspiring vision, akin to climbers who set their sights on the summit.

Recharting Your Course: Educators continually navigate challenges and rechart their course based on best practices and data-informed planning, much like the physical and mental challenges of high-altitude climbing.

Building Resilient Teams: Collaboration between administrators and educators is key in both DCI work and successful schools, much like the camaraderie and teamwork crucial for a successful Everest expedition.

Data-Based Choices: Key to DCI is the data-informed process leading to instructional planning and adjusting, similar to the critical judgments made during a climb.
