Advanced Tiers Teams is a new Positive Behavior Support Professional Learning Module. The two lessons in this module cover the following topics:

• Part 1 provides descriptions of essential roles and responsibilities of efficient and effective Advanced Tiers Teams and provides guidance on identifying potential personnel to serve on the Advanced Tiers Team.
• Part 2 provides guidance on developing systems to support collaborative teaming processes with an Advanced Tiers Team.

Additionally, one of the core components of the Advanced Tiers Team is the establishment of an effective, efficient team who will develop, implement, and monitor the overall functions of your school’s systems and practices. The Advanced Tiers Team must create effective systems in order to be efficient in providing support to students who are at-risk and high-risk according to the team’s criteria measures.

• Establish Advanced Tiers Team roles and responsibilities.
• Create a meeting schedule for the year.
• Create a standard meeting agenda.
• Develop working agreements for Advanced Tiers meeting.
• Use a pre-meeting organizer to increase efficiency.
• Create a communication system.
• Implement a standard decision-making protocol.
• Create an organizational system for housing and sharing Advanced Tiers artifacts.
