Specially Designed Instruction (SDI)

Special Education means specially designed instruction. Missouri defines specially designed instruction as the adaptation, as appropriate, to the content, methodology or delivery of instruction to address the unique needs of a child with a disability to ensure access of the child to the general curriculum, so that he or she can meet the educational standards of the public agency that apply to all children. This module focuses on state and federal regulations associated with specially designed instruction and provides examples and resources to aid special educators in providing specially designed instruction.
